Casa Tres Patios (2018)

Mexico City, Mexico

800m2

In the heart of Lomas de Chapultepec, Mexico City, Casa Tres Patios reinterprets Mediterranean and Arabic architecture through a design that blends tradition, modernity, and sustainability. Built between 2015 and 2018, this residence stems from the vision of its client: a space that prioritizes the connection between indoors and outdoors, climatic comfort, and functional flexibility—while also being appealing in the real estate market. At the core of the project is its central patio, clad in Mexican porphyry stone and centered around a guava tree. This multifunctional space regulates indoor temperature, promotes cross ventilation, and transforms the atmosphere throughout the day thanks to steel latticework that filters light and shadow. The design carefully articulates social, private, and recreational areas across four levels, which include living spaces, resting zones, and a rooftop equipped with a gym, pool, and lounge. The material palette reinforces the project’s identity by combining stone, steel, and glass—striking a balance between authenticity and modernity. Sustainable strategies such as rainwater harvesting, water reuse, and LED lighting optimize resource efficiency. Casa Tres Patios is a testament to how architectural design can balance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.More than a residence, it is a model for contemporary living—connecting its inhabitants with nature and offering flexible, comfortable, and efficient spaces that respond to the needs of both present and future.
