The Crest (2024)

Baja California Sur, Mexico

600m2

Located in the exclusive community of Cabo del Sol in San José del Cabo, The Crest LT37 is a luxury residence designed for an international market, with a focus on architectural integration with the desert-coastal landscape.Surrounded by xerophytic vegetation and a warm, dry climate, the home complies with the community’s guidelines and incorporates terraces, patios, and gardens with native flora to blend seamlessly into the environment. The H-shaped layout efficiently organizes service, public, and private areas. A double-height living and dining room connects the different spaces, optimizing cross ventilation and natural light. The private areas—including five bedrooms and a library—frame views of the landscape, while the social areas promote interaction in an open, sunlit setting. The material palette emphasizes the connection to the surroundings through local stone walls, neutral-toned stucco, and natural woods that lend warmth and timelessness. Mexican marble floors strike a balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. The project integrates sustainable strategies such as low-water-use vegetation, thermal mass provided by stone walls, and volumes that cast shade to reduce environmental impact. The Crest LT37 reimagines the concept of a retirement home by fusing comfort, contemporary design, and environmental sensitivity in harmony with its setting.
