ABOUT US
YTURBE TALLER DE ARQUITECTURA (Y.T.A.) is an architecture studio based in San José del Cabo and Mexico City. Founded in 2013 under the name ONCE ONCE Arquitectura, in 2025 it adopted its current identity to reflect a renewed, holistic commitment to excellence in architecture and design. The studio is grounded in a deep understanding of clients’ needs and desires, as well as the unique characteristics of each site, aiming to exceed expectations and create timeless, enduring projects.
Diego Yturbe Verea, founder and director of the studio, studied Design and Visual Arts at Parsons School of Design, Paris (1996–1997), and later earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) in Mexico City (1997–2002). He also pursued postgraduate studies in Sustainable Design and Construction, along with a specialization in Real Estate Development, both at UIA.
Before founding his own practice, he worked between 2002 and 2011 at various architecture firms, including with Javier Sánchez (JSa), Alejandro Dacosta, and finally with José De Yturbe Bernal (De Yturbe Arquitectos). In 2011, he co-founded Casas Maxhome, a mid-income housing developer focused on both horizontal and vertical housing projects.
YTA’s experience spans a wide range of scales and typologies, including mixed-use buildings, commercial projects, office spaces, cultural venues, rehabilitation, interior design, hospitality, private residences, and wellness centers. However, the studio specializes in the architectural design of new housing, ranging from high-end residences to social housing projects.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
We believe that architecture has the potential to transform everyday life and actively contribute to a more balanced and sustainable world. That’s why our vision goes beyond designing buildings—we strive to create environments that inspire, protect, and connect.
We are driven by a deep sensitivity to aesthetics and functionality, but also by a curiosity to explore, experiment, and challenge the status quo. We see each project as a living organism that must adapt over time, respond to both cultural and natural contexts, and remain attuned to the people who inhabit it.
We design with environmental responsibility, integrating strategies that promote energy efficiency, health, and comfort. We’re interested in creating spaces that not only meet a need but foster connection, belonging, and collective well-being. At its core, our vision is a way of caring for the world through architecture.
